I’m Cara,
a Wayfinder Life Coach and Contemplative Enneagram Practitioner—and at heart, a deep listener.

Listening has always been how I move through the world. From an early age, I was fascinated by what makes each person uniquely themselves, while also sensing the deeper connection that holds us all. Helping others came naturally to me, but for many years my sense of worth became entangled with pleasing, supporting, and carrying others’ weight.

Over time, that way of living took a toll.

I found myself depleted, resentful, and disconnected from my own inner life — unable to show up as the person or parent I wanted to be. There was no dramatic breaking point, just a quiet, unmistakable knowing: I could not continue this way.

The Inner Turning

That knowing marked the beginning of a deeper commitment to inner work.

While I had always been spiritually oriented, I began to engage more intentionally with contemplative traditions and group spiritual study, including Fourth Way–informed teachings, and the Enneagram as a means of understanding the particular lens through which I experience life. I learned to shift out of an overactive mind and into the wisdom of the body through meditation, somatic awareness, dream exploration, and reflective inquiry.

I also found profound grounding in nature. Being outdoors consistently reminds me that my personal truth is part of a greater whole — and that nature itself can be a powerful teacher of belonging, perspective, and humility.

Through this process, I discovered something essential: the clarity, love, and joy I had been seeking were already within me, waiting to be embraced.

How this shapes my work

This inner shift transformed how I support others.

Rather than carrying burdens or fixing problems, my work now centers on holding a steady, compassionate mirror. I don’t define who someone is or tell them who to become. I create space for people to listen more deeply to themselves and move forward from that place.

My coaching integrates:

  • Wayfinder Life Coaching

  • Contemplative Enneagram wisdom

  • Body-based awareness

  • Dream and imaginal work

  • Spiritual reflection that honors both faith and questioning

I am comfortable walking alongside people who are rooted in religious or spiritual traditions, those who are deconstructing inherited beliefs, and those who are reconstructing meaning in new ways.

Conscious Parenting & Intergenerational Care

Over time, it became clear that this work naturally extends into parenting.

I believe children are separate, whole beings on their own developmental journey — deserving of both agency and secure, compassionate scaffolding. Supporting children well requires parents who know themselves, honor their own boundaries, and trust their inner wisdom.

While my primary work is with adults and parents, this intergenerational lens informs everything I do. Conscious living and conscious parenting, to me, are rooted in the same truth: when we learn to listen inward rather than perform or please, life unfolds with greater ease and integrity.

Beyond Coaching

Outside of my professional work, I find grounding and delight in time with my children, volunteering with young children in my community, daily walks in nature with my dogs, and staying active — including a love for pickleball and horses.

These rhythms continually remind me of what matters most: connection, balance, and the quiet confidence that comes from living in harmony with who we truly are.

On Children

This poem has long shaped how I understand parenting and the sacred trust involved in caring for children.

Kahlil Gibran (1883–1931)

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.

You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth…

You don’t have to walk this alone

I offer a spacious, grounded presence for those who feel called to live with greater clarity, integrity, and self-trust.
If you’re curious about what it might be like to work together, I welcome you to reach out.
